Crucero Amazonas at night.
Crucero Amazonas, which simply means ‘Amazon Cruise’, specialises in personalised services to travellers who wish to commune with nature, whilst learning about the flora and fauna and indigenous customs of the Peruvian Amazon.
The cruise vessel has four decks containing 13 cabins, dining room, lounge/bar, spa and an open-air observation area, ideal to enjoy the sunshine and views.
26 passengers can be accommodated in supremely-comfortable suites, measuring 33 sq. m (355 sq. ft), with panoramic views of the Amazon scenery.
There is one Presidential Suite, located on the the Upper Deck, measuring 48 sq. m (516 sq. ft) and featuring a classic design … inspired by the first vessels that explored the Amazon region.
Excursion to Yagua village.
Itineraries range from four to seven days and take passengers down the Amazon River from Iquitos, and into her various tributaries.
Along the way, using the ship’s four motorboats and accompanied by an expert bilingual guide, we visit wildlife sanctuaries, indigenous communities and local villages. We meet a shaman, fish for piranha and try using a blowpipe.
And at the end of each excursion, there is always a warm welcome waiting on board, with the galley turning out gourmet food for every meal and the bartender happy to serve juices, beer, wine and cocktails … for as long as you wish!
