Roberts & Mitchell - Treehouse Lodge Review
Jenny & Melissa from Sheffield, S. Yorks spent two nights at Treehouse Lodge, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, in December 2023, as part of a 3-month backpacking trip to South America.

What was your favourite natural destination in the itinerary?
‘Everywhere in the Amazon! It was all amazing to see.’
How did your guide perform?
‘Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable.’
How was the accommodation?
‘It was good, a really interesting experience.’
Which was your favourite dish / drink?
‘All the food was great, but our favourite was one of the desserts that I can't remember the name of.’
What forms of transport did you use? Pros/cons?
‘The transport was great, we got picked up in a nice big car from our hotel and dropped off in a similar one at Iquitos airport.’
What was your favourite natural encounter?
‘The pink river dolphins.’
Did you suffer any insect bites?
‘Only a few bites but we had cream that helped.’
Did you have much interaction with locals? Where and how did this occur?
‘Our main interactions with locals were the ones who worked at the resort and everyone was lovely.’
Did you feel your money was going to local businesses and people?
‘Yes definitely.’
Were you given any information regarding sustainability during the course of your trip?
‘Yes, our guide was local and very knowledgeable about the impact and change of the environment in the rainforest.’
Did you notice any areas where environmental practices could be improved?
‘Generally, everything was great.’
